Our Music Philosophy
Founded in 2017, NDG Music School has roots that stretch back to Jon’s first “Live From The Garage” show in 2006. Since then, over 500 students have shared in this musical journey, helping our school to grow and thrive. Today, our team includes many alumni from both Live From The Garage and NDG Music School.
We welcome students of all ages and skill levels, focusing on bringing people together through music. In our group music lessons, students pursue their passions and choose their own songs. For those in private lessons, we offer personalized curriculums and expert guidance tailored to each individual’s needs.

NDG Music School Experience
NDG Music School specializes in affordable School-of-Rock-style group music lessons with multiple instructors per group. This approach allows each music student to experience individualized instruction and significant contact time with our expert instructors.

Our team of music educators has a diverse knowledge of instrumental & vocal performance, instrumental composition & songwriting, audio recording, and extensive teaching experience. They are passionate individuals with a strong interest in furthering music education in the Montreal area.

Jonathan Stein is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, composer and producer from Montreal who has been active for over thirty years. Jonathan is also a guitar, ukulele and bass teacher with twenty years of experience who has a DEC in music from Vanier and a BFA with a specialization in jazz studies from Concordia University. He ran his own one-man school of rock called ‘It Came From The Garage!’ from 2006 until the creation of the NDG Music School in 2017. He has put together and prepped over a hundred bands to perform at his annual Live From The Garage student shows, which have now become an NDG Music School tradition. Mike is a record producer, audio engineer, musician and teacher. He completed his Bachelors of Education at McGill in 2012. Since then, he’s also completed multiple production and mixing courses with Berklee Online and is one of few Avid Certified Pro Tools Experts in Canada.
Other notable career credits include recording many artists in his home studio as well as running a scholarship program slash non-profit that promoted music education and health for teens.

Carly LeBlanc is a multi instrumentalist performer and teacher, specializing in vocals. She has completed a DEC in Professional Musicianship and Song Technique from Vanier College, and is currently working towards a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies at Concordia University.
Aside from teaching at NDG Music School, Carly is a part of multiple music projects, including the bands Room, Sideways Mirrors, and the Euphoric Showband, performing in various styles and genres.

Hailing from the bustling metropolis of Mexico City, Jorge Flores is an all-around musician in every respect, able to perform in virtually every aspect of the musical process. Performer, arranger, conductor, singer, multi-instrumentalist and teacher: he has it all covered.
As a musician, he brings with him both formal training and performance chops. He has an AEC in Music Production, and a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Music Studies from Concordia University (graduating with Honors). Jorge also has over 20 years of performance experience with pop, rock, jazz, and reggae groups, and even several professional choirs ranging from classical, secular, contemporary, and sacred music —including the Grammy Award winning Shaar Hashomayim Choir. As a music educator with NDG Music School, Jorge brings a positive creative energy and looks forward to sharing the magic of choral music.
